it's not my house, i just live here.

It’s been awhile since I’ve made any update about the house, but rest assured Zach and I have been working away at it ever so slowly. We’ve been doing lots of painting, errand-running, box-unpacking, and trying to get rid of clutter that somehow managed to evade my pre-move purge. Funny how there always seems to be extra stuff to get rid of… or is that just my fear after watching one too many episodes of Hoarders?!

Next up on the list is finishing the closets on the second floor so we can actually start to organize our clothes and linens. I’m starting to go stir-crazy looking at boxes, and can’t believe we’ve made it more than two months with temporary garment racks for closets. So after work last night, I cleared out the hall closet to start painting. But before I did that, I had a surprise waiting for me at the front door:

This new rug (above) from Surya! I’ve been eyeing this lovely (and affordable!) rug for awhile now, and when I got the notification that the big 8’x11’ size was available, I didn’t hesitate to snap it up. I’m not sure yet if it will live in the dining room or upstairs in the bedroom, but sure enough – it’s awesome to walk on and squish between your toes.

But you don’t have to take my word for it. The furry members of the household wasted no time in rolling all over and showing their appreciation…
