borough hall to glow red tonight!

Get your cameras ready tonight, because Brooklyn Borough Hall will be illuminated in glowing red lights to observe the 23rd Annual World AIDS Day!

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will be joined by Malaak Compton-Rock, supermodel Christy Turlington Burns, and actresses Gabrielle Union and Gabourey Sidibe for the lighting ceremony, which will run from 5-6:30pm at the Borough Hall Rotunda, located at 209 Joralemon Street. Before the ceremony, from 11am until 7pm today, the AIDS Memorial Quilt will also be on display in the Courtroom, and free on-site HIV testing and counseling will be available.

Several other NYC landmarks will be participating in the lighting ceremonies, including the Empire State Building, the JFK Control Tower, the NASDAQ Marketsite Tower in Times Square and the Intrepid. For more information, head over to the Borough’s website or to the Daily News.
