Every Tuesday and Thursday mornings, I pass the greenmarket which occupies a lovely stretch of the plaza in front of Borough Hall and the courthouse. Open three days a week, this farmer’s market is, in my humble opinion, one of the best in the city. Plus — this year the market celebrated its 26th birthday! Impressive.

It may not offer the crazy variety like Union Square, and it definitely isn’t as popular as the greenmarket at Grand Army Plaza. But it’s a solid spot to get beautiful produce, lovely plants, and awesome baked goods at very reasonable prices (and avoid a crushing crowd). I also understand there are additional vendors on Saturdays, when the market offers seafood, cheeses, and fresh eggs.

They also sell the best apple cider I’ve ever tasted. I’m drooling just thinking about it.

Excuse me while I go pour a glass…
