Jill-

As a person who lives on Grace Court Alley, thanks for saying such nice things about our block. I can attest that it's a great place to live (and to garden -- that my place with the window boxes in your photo!)

Recommending books so good, they'll keep you up past your bedtime. ;-)

Man, those mews made me fall in love with Brooklyn and that area felt more like the UK to me and therefore like home in New York. There was one carriage house on Hunts Lane in particular that hadn't been renovsated and I dreamed of buying it (yeah right!) myself. However, I went back this January and it's all done up and looking splendiferous. Lucky people. It's one of the reasons I wanted to move to Brooklyn - while trying to avoid the Manhattan vs Brooklyn (Canon vs Nikon of NYC anyone?) debate. The area where we live, Clinton Hill, is also so interesting and steeped in history. Lovely photograph Jill.
