While the weather in Brooklyn this weekend was positively sweltering, it looks like several of the photographers in our Flickr pool had the right idea to hop on the train and hit the beach. Hopefully, you were able to escape the heat too! Check out the shots below for some of our favorites and grab a cool glass of lemonade (or whatever floats your boat) to cool off!

Was down there (from Maine) for my birthday weekend, and can’t get enough. The Cyclone, couple dogs at Nathan’s. And let us not forget the ever popular and wild “Shoot the Freak” extravaganza!!!

Thanks for the blogpost, Jill.
The Manhattan Bridge and Dumbo thesis images will be up on my website the end of July. I think you’ll all enjoy them. I am reaching out to city museums and historical groups to gauge interest. Does anyone have any contacts at the Brooklyn Museum?

Hi Jill,
You asked if I minded the posting of my photo to the blog–I’m delighted and honored. I’ll be moving away from Brooklyn at the end of this month. I was born and raised here way back when Jesus’ dog was still a puppy. I will miss my city and the uniqueness that is Brooklyn.
