Annika Vitolo, a local singer-songwriter who hails from the Marine Park/Gerritsen Beach area, released a video this week to accompany her new single “Streets of Brooklyn.” The vid features an impressive array of photos from all over the borough in a montage of neighborhoods and real life on the streets (including a few shots from For the Love of Brooklyn)!
Check out Vitolo’s love song to Kings County below, and hop on over to her MySpace for more!

Your video was amazing. You captured something special. I visit Brooklyn several times a year, because of my daughter. She is a recent graduate of the Brooklyn College BFA program. I love this tough, beautiful city. My friends and family, who reside with me in California, Often ask me why I think Brooklyn is so special and it’s hard to explain. Now I have your video to share how special it is. Annika Vitola has an amazing beautiful voice.

Absolutely loved your video. Born, raised, and grew up in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. I moved to PA 12 yrs ago and the people here constantly ask me: What’s so great about Brooklyn? Now I can show them your video and maybe they will understand what my attitude is all about. You can take me out of Brooklyn, but you can NEVER take the Brooklyn attitude away from me. What an amazing voice you have. Keep on singing!!
Best wishes,
Hope

Annika, I was born and raised in Bensonhurst Brooklyn. Your song could be Brooklyn’s National Anthem. Pics are great. Brings back alot of good memories from a great place to grow up in. As a musician myself ( drummer for 52 years ) the song is well done, lets have more. Paulie.
